NIOC - Work of NI Bird Photographers

The NIOC Work of Northern Ireland Bird Photographers is a show that provides people who photograph wild birds with an opportunity to bring their work to a larger audience - that is the essence of the event. We are of course entirely dependent on local bird photographers for the content and, with this in mind, invite photographers to submit images for our 2013 show. To make the event as inclusive as possible, entry is free.
The Entry Form, incorporating the rules, code of conduct and FAQ’s can be downloaded as a pdf file from our website www.nioc.co.uk

It is important that people read each section of the document, even if they are are a frequent entrant, as the content is reviewed each year.
The last date for the submission of entries is Wednesday, 23rd January and it is vital that this deadline is adhered to. The entry will be judged by Roger Tidman one of the UK’s leading wildlife photographers. Roger will also be delivering our annual Sam Penney Memorial Lecture, titled ‘Spanish Steppes’. The lecture will take place on Wednesday, 20th February, and will be followed on Wednesday, 20th March by the Work of Northern Ireland Bird Photographers. The venue for both events is the Lecture Theatre in the Ulster Museum, and the starting time is 7.30pm. (The Club now has to charge for entry to events held in the museum. This is because the NIOC now have to pay the museum for the use of their accommodation. For club members admission is £1.00, and for non- members £3.00)
We hope that bird photographers will help ensure the continuity of this important and, in a Northern Ireland context, unique photographic event by providing an entry and, by spreading the word!
